International Trade: Food Law Class 6

As food is one of the major export products and an important import product of the EU it is one of the key domains in EU trade and regulatory policies

In this workshop we will discuss the impact of trade (FTA’s, import/export regulations, …) and indirect taxes including customs duties, excises, VAT and other food related levies on the food sector.

Speakers

Bert Gevers, partner, is a member of the Loyens & Loeff Indirect Tax Practice Group and he co-heads the Food & Beverages Team. He advises his clients on matters related to the international and domestic exchange of goods and services.

Aude Mahy, counsel, is a member of the Loyens & Loeff Litigation & Risk Management Practice Group and she co-heads the Food & Beverages Team. She specialises in commercial law and European and Belgian food law.

Jack Nuijten, senior associate, is a member of the Loyens & Loeff Indirect Tax Practice Group. He specialises in trade and customs procedures.

Robert van Esch, associate, is a member of the Loyens & Loeff Indirect Tax Practice Group. He assists multinational trade companies in their (inter)national VAT obligations and provides advice on indirect tax.

Jochen Vankerckhoven, associate, is a member of the Loyens & Loeff Indirect Tax Practice Group. He specialises in trade and customs procedures.

Costs

  • The Food Law Classes are graciously offered to Loyens & Loeff clients.

  • Other companies participate in the costs for the amount of EUR 345,- (excl. VAT) per class or EUR 2.900,- (excl. VAT) for 10 classes (applicable in case of registration at once).

  • The Food Law Classes will be open to law or science Master students (free of charge, admission upon motivation letter).

Cancellation policy

In case of cancellation less than 10 days prior to the class, an administrative fee of EUR 75,- (excl. VAT) will be charged.
